Su Xiao, an overworked archaeology intern, finds a wounded, animal-skin-clad "wild man" named A Yan in an alley at midnight—he’s actually a hunter from a 10,000-year-old primitive tribe. Forced to live together, Su Xiao teaches him modern skills like using a toilet and speaking Mandarin while hiding his identity. In return, A Yan pampers her with raw sincerity: weaving flower crowns from leaves, waiting in the rain with a giant tree leaf (he doesn’t know what an umbrella is), and even blocking a runaway electric bike with his bare hands to protect her. Just as Su Xiao grows attached to this "primitive sweetness," A Yan suddenly vanishes—turns out he traveled through time via a bone flute from his tribe’s ritual, which is exactly the artifact Su Xiao is restoring. Faced with sending him back to the ancient past, Su Xiao realizes she’s already fallen for this caveman who "can’t say sweet words but gives her his whole heart."
