Su Wan, a political and legal reporter, sets her sights on Gu Shen, the cold-faced president of a multinational group, to investigate the truth behind her father's death—her father, a anti-drug police officer, left a clue called "Black Fireworks" before his sacrifice, which surprisingly coincides with Gu's "Fireworks" charity project. From a cat-and-mouse game of mutual testing, they gradually get involved in a drug-trafficking conspiracy spanning a decade: "Black Fireworks" is the code name for a new type of drug. Gu Shen's uncle faked his father's death to seize power and framed Su Wan's father. When the truth comes out, Gu Shen has to choose between family and justice, while Su Wan faces the cruel truth of her father's sacrifice and her already budding feelings for Gu Shen—this game named after "fireworks", is it redemption, or a deeper沉沦?
