Lin Xiaoman, a 996 office worker, is accidentally selected for the urban experimental variety show *Welcome to the New World*. She expects to start a "laid-back life" but stumbles into a bunch of "perfect bugs"—her "ideal boyfriend" is a programmer who loves cold jokes, her "perfect apartment" has such bad soundproofing that she can hear the neighbor practicing bel canto, and even her "worry-free job" is screening funny videos for AI! However, she retrieves her lost passion in these "imperfections" and gradually falls for the "bug boyfriend". Just when she thinks she's going to settle in the "new world", the program team suddenly announces the end of the experiment, forcing her to choose between the "cold reality" and the "warm bug world"...
