Shen Wantang, the neglected Princess Yunzhao, spends her days lounging in the cold palace, making tea and playing with cats, thinking she can muddle through life. But when the late emperor dies suddenly and the crown prince is assassinated, the court officials, seeking balance, force the "least threatening" her to take the throne. On her coronation day, she squats on the dragon chair with a cat, legs trembling, only to see Rong Jingyuan—the "stranded scholar" she saved three years ago—now the cold-faced Regent, staring at her with a half-smile. Between the court elders' covetous eyes and the Regent's hidden secrets, Shen Wantang is forced to evolve from a "lazy咸鱼 (slacker)" to a "disguised dragon," oscillating daily between "giving up and abdicating" and "taking down enemies." Gradually, she discovers that the Regent, who always shields her from hidden arrows, seems to have been watching over her in the shadows for years?
