Meng Xiaotang, a ferryman from the Underworld, is forced to descend to the mortal world to retrieve the lost Rebirth Lamp, only to find it embedded in the soul of Li Jingshen, a cold and distant CEO. To get the lamp, Meng disguises herself as his secretary, but she’s gradually moved by Li’s unexpected tenderness: he shields her from a speeding car, patiently teaches her to use a coffee machine, and even secretly learns to make the osmanthus cake she loved in her past life. Unbeknownst to her, Li has long recognized Meng as the ancient girl in his recurring dreams—the one he’s waited a thousand years for. When Meng finally tries to take the lamp, she discovers its activation condition is "mutual love"—in their past life, she sacrificed herself for him, so he traded his thousand-year lifespan for a reunion. This time, they’re determined to break the Underworld’s rule that "ferrymen can’t love."
