In the old building of Fengma Lane in the old town live three young people who’ve stumbled in life: Lin Xiaoman, a planning rookie suffering from workplace PUA; Chen Mo, a homestay owner hiding from debts after a failed business; and Su Wan, a documentary director stuck in a creative rut. They used to live separate lives until the news of the old building’s demolition forced them to connect—Xiaoman wants to keep her grandfather’s old rattan chair, Chen Mo hides a memory notebook filled with homestay guests’ messages, and Su Wan is filming her final documentary about the old building. When the demolition team’s red paint splashes on the walls and troubles hit like a gale, these young people, stubborn as wild horses refusing to bow, start to support each other: someone helps Xiaoman fight back against bullying, someone helps Chen Mo rediscover his entrepreneurial passion, someone accompanies Su Wan to finish her work. They realize the “gale” isn’t meant to blow anything away—it’s to make these “wild horses” see clearly: the most important thing to hold onto is the unquenchable fire in their hearts.
