Lin Xiaoman is the top memory repairer at Time Memory Gallery, living a peaceful life erasing clients' painful memories—until recurring nightmares haunt her: a man in a white coat holding a syringe says, "Her memory is collapsing," and a stranger named Chen Mo shouts through glass, "Xiaoman, don't trust them!" She makes a horrifying discovery: she is the one whose memory was tampered with! Three years ago, she was a journalist exposing the Memory Factory's fraud. Her boyfriend Chen Mo was killed by boss Zhou Heng for holding evidence, while she was brainwashed into an accomplice. Now Zhou Heng is using fake memories to manipulate the city's richest man for a billion-dollar project. Lin Xiaoman pretends to cooperate to gather evidence, and finds Chen Mo is alive—trapped in the factory basement as a "memory resilience test subject."
