Lin Xiaoman, a Hong Kong workplace rookie, loses her job after taking the blame for a friend and accidentally becomes the assistant to Lu Jingshen, president of a Beijing-Hong Kong conglomerate. The sarcastic president seems to nitpick her constantly, but secretly helps her resolve workplace exclusion and secure key projects, transforming her from an "invisible employee" to a capable project leader. Meanwhile, Lu Jingshen's secret behind his cold exterior is revealed—childhood trauma from separation between Beijing and Hong Kong made him fear love, until Xiaoman's straightforward warmth breaks his defenses. When Xiaoman discovers she's the "little marshmallow" Lu Jingshen met in Hong Kong as a child, their "president-assistant" story turns out to be a two-way journey spanning twenty years?
