Fed up with urban burnout, the protagonist quits his job and returns to his hometown to farm, only to be ridiculed by the whole village for “wasting a good job”. He grits his teeth to try the rice-fish symbiosis ecological planting on the barren land, which accidentally attracts his ex-girlfriend who broke up years ago—she comes with a huge group to “inspect the abandoned land”. What was thought to be mockery turns out to be appreciation, as the group recognizes the potential of his model and joins forces to promote the project. The once-mocked wasteland becomes an envied “gold mine”, driving the whole village to get rich and resolving the gap between the two, kicking off his successful comeback.
