Lin Xiaoman, a junior, has dreamed of the same blood-stained phone number for a week. Driven by curiosity, she dials it, only to hear a girl’s sobbing plea: “Don’t look for me—they’re coming.” The next day, her best friend disappears without a trace, leaving an old notebook with the exact same number. Soon, classmates who participated in the cyberbullying of “Su Wan’s suicide” start receiving death-prediction calls—and they all die at the specified time. Xiaoman discovers that Su Wan, the girl who died from the bullying a year ago, is the number’s owner—and she herself is the last “rumormonger.” When she finally reaches Su Wan’s gravesite to apologize, her phone rings. The caller ID? Her own number.
