32-year-old Lin Wan is in her darkest hour—her daughter’s leukemia has relapsed and needs a bone marrow transplant, and she’s fired after being framed at work. Just when she’s desperate, her mother Chen Xiulan, who disappeared 15 years ago, suddenly appears. The resentment from her mother’s “abandonment” to remarry still lingers, so Lin Wan is cold to her. But her mother quietly takes care of her granddaughter, even secretly goes to the hospital for a bone marrow match, and reveals the truth—she left back then only to raise money for Lin Wan’s surgery. When the mother’s match is successful and the yearly remittance records in the old passbook are exposed, Lin Wan finally understands that her mother’s “departure” was never giving up, but loving her in the most painful way. Mother and daughter join hands and finally overcome fate’s difficulties.
