Su Xiaotang, once a wealthy young lady, becomes a workaholic after her father's company goes bankrupt, pushing herself to a stomach hemorrhage to pay off huge debts. When delivering documents, she bumps into Gu Tingshen—a domineering CEO who controls the capital's economic lifeline—who's distraught over his grandma's serious illness. Su accidentally calms his grandma down, but Gu mistakes her for a "scheming woman". It's not until he sees her revising plans while eating instant noodles at a convenience store, or shielding an intern from forced drinking, that Gu understands her strength is more dazzling than any jewelry. When he holds a custom diamond ring and stands under her shabby balcony, Su laughs through tears: "Mr. Gu, are you sure you want to take the bus with me?" Meanwhile, his ex-girlfriend, hiding in the dark, clutches "dirt" on Su's father, ready to deliver a fatal blow to the couple.
