Gu Shiyan, a possessive and sickly CEO, drove Su Wan away three years ago due to his extreme possessiveness. But when Su Wan's father falls critically ill, she is forced to return—he uses her father's surgery fees as leverage to make her "pretend" to be his wife. It's not until she finds the chemotherapy needles hidden under his suit that she learns the man who trapped her has been suffering from stomach cancer and has only three months left to live. Those suffocating "possessions": hiding her passport to prevent her from seeing him collapse in the office, forcing her to have dinner together to remember her face—are all the "traces" a dying man is trying his best to leave. When dusk spills over the window ledge, he holds her hand and says, "I never wanted to trap you; I was just afraid you'd forget me." Only then does Su Wan understand that those "abductions" were all his final tenderness.
