Lin Chuan, a small-town community cop who reincarnates back to 2000, was wrongfully fired in his past life over a teenage girl's missing cold case. This time, armed with future memories, he must solve the old case to clear his name while tackling various street crimes of the Y2K era—stolen car ring secrets, human trafficking hidden behind neighborhood disputes, and even a chance meeting with Su Xiaotang, his first love who never married him in the past. As the tragedy from his memories is about to repeat, can Lin use the "clumsy methods" of a grassroots cop to uphold justice in the tide of the times and rise from a "pariah" to a "community hero"?
