Full-time housewife Lin Xiaoman, anxious about her marriage because of her husband Chen Mo’s words "we have no common language," secretly enrolls in "The Wonderful Foreign Language Class" to save their relationship. Unexpectedly, she learns about Chen Mo’s affair with his secretary from a classmate—turns out the "no common language" was just an excuse for infidelity. On the verge of collapse, with the company of her teacher Xu Mingyuan and a group of "problem classmates," she transforms from a beginner who only knows "hello" to a professional capable of undertaking foreign-related translations. When Chen Mo repents and tries to "return to the family," she hands him a divorce agreement and evidence of his infidelity with a smile: "Now it’s me who thinks we have no common language." And this "wonderful foreign language class" has long become a life lesson of her self-awakening.
