When Old Man Liu is suddenly hospitalized with a serious illness, his three children are swept into a "family storm"—the eldest daughter pretends to care but schemes for the old house, the son avoids filial duties to escape his wife's complaints, and the divorced youngest daughter faces sarcasm from her sister-in-law when trying to return home. As conflict escalates to the brink of a court battle, the quiet old mother pulls out a yellowed adoption certificate: the eldest daughter, who fought the hardest, is actually adopted, and the parents had long transferred the property to her to make up for the "sense of security" they couldn't give her years ago. A fight over interests ultimately reveals the love the parents hid for decades, bringing the fractured family back together.
