Xishan Village receives a flood and rainstorm warning, but the whole village clings to the fluke of “no disaster will hit”. Coupled with the past disagreement between the returned young man Shou An and villagers about “guarding the mountain and protecting fruits”, they collectively ignore the evacuation notice. Watching the passion fruit orchard supporting the whole village's livelihood, Shou An disregards his childhood sweetheart A Xiu's dissuasion and rushes to transfer movable seedlings and ripe fruits overnight in the rain. The flood destroys the whole village's homes as scheduled. When villagers return covered in mud, they see Shou An's reinforced greenhouse and passion fruit seedlings on safe highlands—this natural disaster that almost pushes the village to the brink is saved by one man's stubborn persistence, leaving them stunned and guilty.
