Female journalist Su Wan ventures alone into the "Guixu Inn" deep in the desert to find her missing brother, an informant investigating desert cultural relic smuggling. The inn has a gloomy owner Lao Zhou, a sneaky relic dealer, a backpacker who vanishes at midnight, and a scarred man staring at her. That night, the backpacker is found dead with her brother's interview notebook—its last line reads, "There's a 'man-eating living coffin' under the inn." Sneaking into the tunnel, Su Wan finds stolen Dunhuang relics and her bound brother! Lao Zhou appears with a knife to kill them, but the scarred man rushes in—he's an anti-smuggling cop, and Lao Zhou is the smuggling ring's "transfer station". But a bigger twist: Su Wan picks up Lao Zhou's phone, the lock screen is a photo of her and her boyfriend, and the contact "Boss" is her boyfriend's number...
