Su Xiaotang, a top modern music producer, accidentally travels back to a rural village in northern Jiangsu in 1985 and is forced to marry Gu Mingyuan, a cold-faced veteran. While dealing with her mother-in-law's刁难 and neighbors' gossip, she transforms the county cultural troupe with modern music ideas—from street singing to the provincial Spring Festival Gala—breaking the 1980s prejudice against "women in music". Her distant husband, however, hides guilt over his late wife. When Su Xiaotang's melody breaks into his closed heart, will this arranged marriage become a "melodic" miracle across time?
