A-Ling, a ten-thousand-year-old immortal hiding in a remote southwest village, spends her days growing spiritual vegetables and playing with village kids. But when a city developer tries to demolish the old ancestral hall—the gateway to the spiritual vein she's guarded for a millennium—she's forced to show her powers: making excavators shut down, causing troublemakers to trip into vegetable cellars, even wrapping the hall in mountain mist... Yet when the developer's boss comes in person, A-Ling freezes—he's the reincarnation of her senior brother, whom she missed ten thousand years ago while saving mortals! Between protecting the spiritual vein and villagers, and the old friend she's waited for millennia, the 'calamity' she's avoided for a thousand years has finally arrived...
