Lu Zhao, a modern history teacher, travels back in time to become an immortal in the Ming Dynasty, witnessing the rise and fall of sixteen emperors from Hongwu to Chongzhen. Hiding the secret of being a "living history book", he is framed as a "heretic" and thrown into death row for stopping the power-hungry eunuch Liu Jin's rebellion. At the critical moment, he uses the secret edict personally given by Emperor Yongle to turn the tables, exposing Liu Jin's treasonous plot. Later, in the Wanli era, he clears the name of Prime Minister Zhang Juzheng—who was wrongfully accused of treason and had his family抄ed—with the salt certificate ledgers Zhang left behind. When immortality becomes not a blessing but a chain to guard the Ming Dynasty, can he hold onto his original intention amid imperial power struggles and villainous schemes? Watch how the immortal uses his millennium-old wisdom to打脸 villains and write the untold heroic legend of the Ming court!
