Modern female detective Lin Wan transmigrates into the harem’s most卑微 “chambermaid” and bonds with the “Harem Counterattack System.” Her tasks start with emptying chamber pots and sweeping the imperial garden, but secretly, she’s to investigate the late emperor’s sudden death. While dealing with the concubine’s bullying and maids’ schemes, she uses her刑侦 skills to solve palace mysteries, catching the eye of the cold Emperor Xiao Jingyan—he’s long suspected traitors in the harem, but never expected this “clumsy maid” to see through his disguise. When the system’s final task is “Become the Empress,” Lin Wan realizes the truth she seeks is tied to Xiao Jingyan’s origin… She’s an undercover agent, he’s a hunter; they test each other in the power struggle, yet slowly fall in love. The real counterattack isn’t the glory of sharing the emperor’s bed, but tearing through the harem’s darkness together and holding each other’s hands.
