Lin Chuan, a modern internet-famous hot pot shop owner, transmigrates into a poor farmer's son in ancient times. As soon as he wakes up, he's hounded by a landlord for debt and dumped by his fiancée who despises his poverty. Desperate, he uses a found copper pot to boil a spicy broth—only to accidentally attract Princess Yunzhao, who's traveling incognito. Even more surprisingly, this “divine flavor” helps the emperor resolve a border tribe peace treaty (the tribe's leader is a spicy food fanatic). From then on, he rises rapidly: from a street vendor to the imperial kitchen manager, revives the court's finances with “chain hot pot shops,” and even uses hot pot knowledge to crack a villain's poisoning plot. Along the way, he slaps the faces of the landlord who humiliated him and the scholar who stole his fiancée. Finally, he becomes the “Hot Pot Emperor” with immense power, marries the princess, and turns hot pot into an “invincible legend” of the empire.
