In the early years of the Republic of China, Lin Zhaozhao, a female Taoist from Qingcheng Mountain, stole her sect's treasure to save her dying lover Gu Tingshen. However, after gaining power, Gu married a warlord's daughter and framed her as an "evil Taoist" responsible for disasters, leading to the massacre of her entire sect. On the brink of death after falling off a cliff, Lin awakens her past life—she was originally a Green Luan Divine Bird guarding the mortal world, and this life's tribulation is a trial from heaven for her "abandoning the Taoist path for love". Reborn, she uses immortal arts to expose Gu's hypocrisy while protecting civilians from evil spirits. Yet she discovers a shocking conspiracy behind Gu's betrayal: someone is using him to open the gate to the demon realm. When the laws of the immortal path collide with the embers of old love, can Lin Zhaozhao overcome the tribulation of "unfaithfulness" and guard both the mortal world and her original heart?
