In 1930s Shanghai, 16-year-old street magician Lin Xiaochuan makes a living with tricks. When he exposes the "divine scheme" of Zhou Mingyuan, the chamber of commerce boss's son, he faces brutal retaliation: his stall is destroyed, and his beloved grandma (who raised him) is framed and jailed. In desperation, he opens his late master's old chest and finds a bronze ring that turns "magic tricks" into real powers—telekinesis saves his grandma from prison, card reading uncovers Zhou's smuggling plot, and even the "disappearing act" exposes a warlord's concubine's baby-switching scam... When tricks become a sword to pierce the darkness, the little magician will use his magic-like wisdom to reclaim all the justice in the glitzy Shanghai, and unravel the shocking secret of his master's death—this ring was always his "inheritance."
