Lin Yue, a veteran cook discharged from the army, adheres to the original aspiration of "cooking every meal with sincerity" and opens a small restaurant in the city, refusing his black-hearted peers' underhanded tactics such as using low-quality ingredients and cutting corners. He gradually builds a good reputation with genuine materials and honest service. During this period, he has to deal with malicious suppression and framing from peers, and also gains sincere love from a girl who supports him. Eventually, all black-hearted peers crash due to illegal operations, and Lin Yue's restaurant becomes a well-reputed honest eatery, interpreting the weight of "a lifetime of integrity in every meal".
