In the early years of the Republic of China, Ye Zhiqiu, a young doctor returning from overseas study, stumbles upon the "Moonlit Inn" in the suburban forest while searching for his missing fiancée Su Wan. The inn is hidden in fog during the day and only appears when the moon is full at night.
