Lin Wan is an "emotional Gu master" hiding in the city, capable of absorbing others' negative emotions with Gu worms—but each use erodes her own memories. She has secretly loved her colleague Gu Chengchuan for three years, who recently fell into depression after a project failure. Lin Wan secretly uses the "Forget-Worry Gu" to help him, but every time she does, her memories of Gu Chengchuan fade: from remembering he likes coffee with double sugar, to forgetting he once picked up her notebook on the subway, to almost losing the reason she stays by his side. As Gu Chengchuan climbs out of his slump and his career rebounds, he notices Lin Wan is "disappearing": the old Gu box in her drawer, the panic and reluctance in her eyes when she sees him. Until one late night, he catches her vomiting blood while facing a Gu worm—and when she looks up, her unfamiliar eyes make his heart clench: "Do you... know me?"
