In the Dayong Dynasty, Xiao Jue, the crippled regent who has feigned blindness for years, marries Su Qingmei, a so-called "speechless orphan" rumored to be the survivor of the massacred Su family. On their wedding night, both hide their true purposes: Xiao Jue fakes blindness to paralyze treacherous court officials and seize power, while Su Qingmei pretends to be mute to uncover her family's massacre. When he attempts to test her for power-grabbing, she suddenly discloses the clue to a secret letter. He then tears off his eye cover, revealing sharp eyes. The so-called "disabled king" and "mute girl" are actually ruthless characters pretending to be weak, and their defensive game gradually evolves into a joint effort to break the deadlock.
