Lin Xiaoman, a corporate slave, spends every New Year's Eve drowning in marriage pressure, overtime, and loneliness. This year hits harder—after working till midnight, she knocks over a candy melon stall and triggers the "New Year's Eve Escape System." The catch: she must "escape" three misfortunes—her ex showing off his new girlfriend, the landlord pressing for rent, and her boss demanding she return to work—or be stuck in an endless New Year's Eve loop! To add humor, the system has a Northeastern Chinese accent, and the mission item is "candy melon to stick bad luck." She praises the ex's girlfriend's taste (leaving him speechless), takes care of the landlord's sick child (rent waived), and roasts her boss with the system's "workplace sass" (only to be headhunted by a better company). Finally, she learns the system was an amulet from her late grandma—who wanted her to "escape" negative emotions, not reality. In the end, she meets a handsome neighbor also "tricked" by the system, and they share dumplings. Turns out, "escaping from New Year's Eve" means embracing a new life.
