Li Shu, a noodle shop owner, treats his apprentice A Ming like his own son and teaches him all the skills of making authentic noodles. Unexpectedly, A Ming is tempted by money and forces Li Shu to leave by underhanded means. When running the shop alone, A Ming's trickery leads to the shop's collapse, leaving him isolated with no one to turn to. Only when he is desperate does A Ming realize that his master's kindness and integrity were the real foundation of their success. Finally, the master and apprentice reunite to run the shop again, and a bowl of warm noodles witnesses the true hearts and original intentions.
