Lin Xiaoman, an overworked office drone, is hit by a stray purple moonlight on her way home from an all-nighter—and binds to a sarcastic "Cultivation Counterattack System"! The system gives her an ultimatum: win over the icy CEO Gu Zhao within 30 days, or she'll turn into a "moonlight battery" and disappear forever. But Gu Zhao is no ordinary tycoon—he's a "Moonlight Barrier Guardian" who's guarded for a thousand years, desperate to fix the purple moonlight anomaly. To make matters worse, the system's tasks are all absurd: help Gu find his "lost cat" (actually an ancient mythical beast Pixiu), accompany him to the suburbs to "watch the moon" (repairing the barrier), even take a cursed drink for him... From mutual annoyance to chasing Pixiu all over the city and fixing the barrier together, Lin gradually discovers: beneath Gu's cold exterior lies a millennium of loneliness, and that stray moonlight holds their unfulfilled past-life promise—she's not a tool chosen by the system, but the "Moonlight Lord" Gu has waited a thousand years for! But the villain is already after the purple moonlight's power, ready to steal the system and destroy the barrier... Can they complete the mission in 30 days, protect the moonlight, and keep each other?
