To fulfill her grandmother’s last wish, Shen Nian arrives at a seaside old cafe marked for demolition, waiting for someone who can bring clues about her grandfather, a sailor who went missing. She runs into Lu Ye, a real estate agent in charge of harbor renovation, who plans to shut down the struggling shop. The two, initially at odds, uncover an old promise between their grandfathers while searching for clues: grandpa’s sailing diary is hidden in the cafe’s old bookshelf. The sea breeze will blow as promised; in this half-century-old vow, waiting for the wind means waiting for the tender, awkward person right in front of her.
