In the water towns of Republican-era southern China, A Shi, the only daughter of a famed comb-making family, earns her living through her family's iconic "Ten-Stroke Combing Ritual". Local lore holds that combing your beloved's hair for the tenth time seals a lifetime vow of love. She harbors a quiet crush on Shen Yan, a gentle antiques collector who arrives in town. But while helping him sort through his belongings, she finds an old comb tooth engraved with her own name—and learns Shen Yan is the son of the family enemy who destroyed her father's comb workshop two decades ago. Will this final tenth comb stroke shatter their romance, or unlock the decades-old family secret?
