Shen Qingtang, the recognized "First Pride" of Ningcheng, is a female CEO in control of a ten-billion empire. Yet on her 30th birthday, she receives a terminal illness diagnosis. Hiding her condition, she is determined to find the "little hero" who saved her from a car accident 15 years ago—the boy who gave her a milk candy and said, "I'll wait for you to grow up." Then Lin Chuan, a new assistant, comes into her life: he can make her favorite osmanthus sugar lotus root, remembers her fear of the dark, and even has the same old scar on his wrist as that boy. Just when Shen Qingtang thinks the "reunion" will be perfect, Lin Chuan suddenly disappears—turns out he recognized her long ago, but the "waiting" from back then has long become "inferiority" that dare not approach: he was an orphan adopted back then, and now he's just an ordinary person who "can't climb into her world"…
