Su Xiao, a Beijing food blogger, travels to Northeast China alone to fulfill her grandfather's last wish—finding the "Iron Wok Stew Grandma" who saved him years ago. By accident, she clashes with Lin Qiang, a stubborn Northeast chef guarding his late mother's old wok restaurant. She thinks his stew is "too rustic," he calls her "innovation" a "desecration of old flavors." But when Su Xiao discovers the secret of Lin Qiang's spatula (his mother's passing) and Lin Qiang sees through her camera to her grandfather's regret, these two people with mouths harder than a wok spatula finally simmer the hottest love words and the warmest truth by the bubbling iron wok.
