College student Lin Mo returns to his hometown Shankou Village in Northeast China, dismissing the local folklore about the yellow weasel's request for a title as superstitious nonsense. Late one night, he encounters a sentient yellow weasel blocking his path, demanding he grant it the title of "Immortal" or it will bring disaster. Dismissing it as a prank, Lin Mo is shocked when strange things plague the village overnight: farm cattle die suddenly, and an elderly aunt loses her wits. Now he must fend off the villagers' accusations of heresy, find a way to break the weasel's curse, and protect his younger sister targeted by the creature, trapped in a bizarre folk crisis hidden in rural daily life.
