Socially anxious programmer Lin Xiaoman rents a "shared house" in the old town to save money, only to find her roommates more "troublesome" than expected—Su Xiaotang, a beauty blogger hiding from debt after losing her job; Zhou Xiaoyou, a rebellious teen who rejects studying abroad; and Grandma Chen, a retired Peking Opera actress who moved in by mistake. Four people with no blood ties cram into the 50-square-meter old house. They go from fighting over "toilet rights" to helping Su Xiaotang restart her beauty career, accompanying Zhou Xiaoyou to convince her parents to accept her painting dream, and fulfilling Grandma Chen's wish of "performing one last time". What started as a "make-do" life gradually reveals the warmth of a home—turns out, the best family isn’t born; it’s the true hearts hidden in the "patchwork" of lives.
