Modern investigative journalist Su Wan accidentally travels back to the Republic of China's warlord era while tracking a transnational smuggling case. To investigate warlord smuggling clues, she breaks into the Marshal's Mansion and publicly denounces the cold-faced Marshal Lu Chenchuan as a "collaborator with evildoers." Expecting death, she is instead detained by Lu as his "personal adjutant" on the pretext of "making amends." While trying to escape and secretly investigate Lu's crimes, she discovers this "feared devil marshal" is actually collecting evidence of warlords' collaboration with enemies—and has ties to the modern smuggling ring she tracked. When a "spicy journalist" meets a "disguised just marshal," is it daily bickering or the start of mutual redemption? And is the mysterious pursuer Lu's enemy, or a "chaser" from the modern world?
