Late at night, convenience store owner Lin Chuan meets Lin Xiaoman, a girl in a tattered hazmat suit who claims to be his great-granddaughter from 20 years in the future—a post-apocalyptic world. She’s determined to spend every penny buying all his instant noodles, batteries, and medicine. Lin Chuan thinks she’s lying—until she pulls out his childhood marble, hidden in a wall crack, a secret no one else knows. Xiaoman tells him how their family survived the worst three months of the apocalypse with these supplies, and Lin Chuan starts to believe her. But when he asks, “Will I survive?”, Xiaoman’s eyes well up. “You’ll see in three days,” she says. Just then, the TV breaks in: “Anomalous meteor showers incoming in 72 hours.” Staring at the last half-box of instant noodles on the shelf, Lin Chuan realizes—this isn’t a purchase. It’s a descendant from the end of the world, fighting to give her ancestor a chance to live.
