There, he meets A Yue, a mysterious girl claiming to be a "blade spirit"—she can see blades’ "souls" and reveals his grandfather’s disappearance ties to the "Divine Blade Calamity" 30 years prior. When Xiaochuan finally forges the "Guiyi Blade," he’s shocked: his grandfather is sealed inside! It turns out Master Lin bound himself to the blade spirit decades ago to stop the divine blade’s catastrophe.
