Lin Xiaoman, a full-time housewife who fills her days with TV shows, faces a sudden internet outage in her community. When searching her husband’s briefcase for a charger, she stumbles upon a locked notebook—opened with their wedding anniversary, it contains a stranger’s pregnancy report and intimate photos with her husband, all dated five years ago, exactly when she was struggling with depression after a miscarriage. When her husband returns late from work, Lin confronts him trembling with the photos. He silently hands over his late brother’s death certificate, saying the woman was his brother’s girlfriend.
