Lin Chuan, a pork seller in the vegetable market, is always mocked by the bully Zhou Qiang as a "poor butcher." To steal the money Lin Chuan's sister saved for her surgery, Zhou Qiang sets up a rigged gambling game, taking all their savings and even shoving his sister publicly, calling her "lowly." No one knows that Lin Chuan was once the revered "Gambling Patriarch" in the underground gambling scene—he used to dominate with his unique skill of "hearing dice to distinguish points" but retired to sell pork after his friend died in a gamble. Now, seeing his sister humiliated, Lin Chuan can't hold back anymore. He picks up the dice, walks to Zhou Qiang, and says, "You touched my sister? Let's settle this with a gamble." In one game, he exposes Zhou Qiang's cheating, wins back all their money, and makes Zhou Qiang lose everything. When Zhou Qiang sees the "Patriarch" tattoo on Lin Chuan's hand, he kneels down in fear and shouts to everyone in the market: "Patriarch, I was wrong!"
