Lin Xiaoman is the school's most avoided "Miss Misfortune"—bicycles fall when she passes, corridors leak on her duty days, and even feeding strays gets her hit by bird poop. Everyone gossips she's a "born bad seed" who brings bad luck to others. Until transfer student Gu Zhao shows up: he picks up her trampled notebook, follows her to feed cats secretly, and even shouts "I saw her help the fallen classmate!" when she's falsely accused of pushing someone. But Lin Xiaoman suddenly distances herself—she hides her mom's last wish: her mother, a fallen firefighter, told her to "take others' dangers onto yourself" before dying. So she deliberately takes accidents on herself, scared of dragging Gu Zhao into trouble. Until a school sports banner falls on Gu Zhao—Lin Xiaoman rushes to shield him, but he pulls her into his arms: "It's my turn to protect you." Only then does everyone realize: her "misfortune" is just the trouble she's been shouldering for others.
