Li Shulan, a single mother, struggled to raise her son Chen Mo into a white-collar worker and helped him get married. She thought she could finally rest, but Chen Mo brought her to his new home under the pretense of "helping with the baby"—turning her into a 24/7 "free nanny": making soup at dawn, washing the whole family's clothes late at night, even being rushed to pick up the grandson when she had a 39°C fever. Until she clutched her chronic nephritis diagnosis and yelled at the frantic Chen Mo: "Son, Mom isn't a nanny!" Staring at the medicine bottle hidden under her pillow, Chen Mo suddenly recalled how his mom used to give him the only egg when he was in elementary school... Can this belated "identity awakening" help them regain the warmth they once had?
