In 1990, in the Fuxing Li alley of Shanghai, Su Xiaotang runs 'Jinxiu Fang' making traditional qipaos, on the brink of desperation to raise money for her mother's medical bills. Her childhood friend Lu Yuan returns from Shenzhen with a blueprint for a 'Shanghai-style fashion brand' and wants to take over the shop to partner.
