Lin Xiaoman, a high school girl, has a "totally useless dad" named Lin Jianguo—unemployed for three years, living off savings, and even skipping her parent-teacher conference. Until Xiaoman finds her late mom's diary and discovers her dad was once a high school basketball MVP, who shut down after his wife's death.
