Su Wan, an ancient book restorer, guards her grandfather's "Return Wind Hall", caressing the incomplete "Wind Chant Record" daily to bring the old alley's wind to life on the pages. Until aerospace designer Lu Shiyan bursts in with a demolition plan—he wants to tear down the alley to build a test site for his "Wind Feather" drones. They clash sharply over "wind": Su Wan claims the wind patterns in the book are the alley's heartbeat, while Lu Shiyan mocks her for clinging to old papers instead of understanding "wind's future". But when Su Wan finds a childhood drawing in the book—a boy holding a paper plane chasing a wind-blown book—and realizes Lu Shiyan has the matching half in his wallet, all conflict becomes foreshadowing. On a windy night, Lu Shiyan stands before the hall with an old paper plane: "You said the wind would bring back the lost ones when we were kids. Now I'm here."
