The widely talked-about imperial arranged marriage mix-up becomes a joke the whole capital waits to watch. The sly side lady, supposed to marry the general’s family, secretly swaps the bride with the tough general’s daughter; while the general’s daughter, to marry a powerful official, heads straight to a brothel to “kidnap” the intended prodigal son. Unexpectedly, the prodigal falls for the bold general’s daughter, and the cold powerful official gets totally obsessed, becoming a wife’s slave who even competes with the prodigal for affection. The capital, once waiting to laugh, is turned upside down by these two mismatched odd couples, in a sweet funny story about winning big after a wrong marriage.
