In 1992, the Second Textile Mill in a small city south of the Yangtze River is on the brink of bankruptcy. Factory worker Su Xiao, facing layoffs, unexpectedly shows her talent in fabric design and meets Lu Yuan, who appears to be an ordinary mechanic. With Lu Yuan’s secret help, she designs retro hits with leftover fabrics to save the mill. Little does she know that Lu Yuan is actually a group president here to inspect local textile industry.
